DUBAI: Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam continues to dominate the ICC ODI batting rankings, maintaining his position at the top with 822 rating points.
Fakhar Zaman, though not part of the squad for the ongoing ODIs against Australia, remains in the top 10 at 9th with 675 points. However, Imam-ul-Haq has seen a slight drop, moving from 11th to 12th with 666 points.
In the bowling rankings, Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi has made headway, climbing three places to 4th after his standout performance in the first ODI against Australia, earning 655 rating points.
Meanwhile, Haris Rauf has dropped four places, falling from 23rd to 27th despite claiming three wickets in the same match. Naseem Shah remains steady in 69th with 436 points.
West Indies’ Shai Hope surged five places to 12th following a match-winning century against England, while England’s Liam Livingstone made a remarkable 32-place jump to 58th after scoring a century in the same ODI.
In the ICC Men’s Test rankings, Babar Azam holds 17th place, while Mohammad Rizwan climbed two spots to 20th. India’s Virat Kohli struggled against New Zealand throughout the series and dropped out of the top 20 for the first time in 10 years.
Salman Ali Agha made an upward move to 19th, but Pakistan’s vice-captain Saud Shakeel dropped two spots to 9th, and skipper Shan Masood fell two places to 59th.
Shaheen Afridi remains solid in 15th in the Test rankings, while Noman Ali and Sajid Khan also retain spots in the top 40. Hasan Ali, despite being out of the team, climbed one spot from 36th to 35th.
In other notable changes, India’s Rishabh Pant moved up five places to 6th after strong performances in recent Tests, and New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell rose eight places to 7th following an 82-run knock against India.
England’s Joe Root remains at the top of the Test batting rankings, followed by Kane Williamson, Harry Brook (3rd), Yashasvi Jaiswal (4th), and Steve Smith (5th).
