QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has ordered the establishment of two modern trauma centers in the northern and southern areas of the provincial capital to enhance emergency medical assistance.

During the meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, the Secretary of the Health Department provided detailed briefings on medical service initiatives across the province.

The CM instructed officials from the Communications and Works and Health departments to identify suitable locations for these centers promptly. Bugti emphasized the urgent implementation of these plans to alleviate the burden on the Civil Hospital Quetta’s trauma center.

Bugti also directed the immediate initiation of medical services at trauma centers in Khuzdar and Zhob through outsourcing, aiming to cater to patients who currently travel elsewhere in the country for treatment.

In efforts to improve emergency medical response and save lives during accidents, the CM stressed the integration of rescue centers along highways with state-of-the-art trauma centers, equipped with the latest medical technology.

Furthermore, Bugti called for a review and relocation of the trauma center currently housed in Civil Sandeman Hospital to a more suitable location, pending a detailed report.

The establishment of these trauma centers is expected to ensure timely, high-quality medical care for injured and burned patients within Balochistan, reducing the need for external medical referrals.
