ISLAMABAD: The Bangladesh men’s cricket team on Tuesday arrived in Pakistan, kicking off preparations for a two-match Test series against the host nation to be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore. The team touched down at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport amid tight security measures.
The Bangladesh team will enjoy a rest day before commencing their preparations for the series.
The Bangladesh team is scheduled to practice for the next three days at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. This will allow them to acclimatize to the conditions before moving to Islamabad. On August 17, they will travel to the capital city and set up their training base at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where they will continue their preparations until the start of the first Test match.
The first Test of the series is set to commence on August 21 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Following this, the teams will head to Karachi, where the second Test will begin on August 30.
Led by captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, the Bangladesh squad features a blend of experienced players and emerging talent. The squad includes prominent names such as Mahmud Hasan Joy, Zakir Hasan, Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Nayeem Hasan, Shariful Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed, and Syed Khaled Ahmed.
It is worth noting that all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will join the team later in the tour, as he is currently in Canada.
