ISLAMABAD: This beetroot halwa is a winter treat, combining the flavors of beetroot and carrots. Enhanced with milk, cardamom, and dried fruits, it offers a delightful taste.
Ingredients:
300 gms carrot (skin peeled)
300 gms beetroot (skin peeled)
125 gms condensed milk
125 gms sugar
25 gms desi ghee
15 cashew nuts
1 tsp cardamom powder
10 raisins
7 almond flakes
50 ml milk
Instructions:
Heat 2 tsp of ghee in a large pan.
Add the peeled carrot and beetroot to the pan and sauté for a few minutes.
Pour in the milk and cook on low to medium heat for about 15 minutes until the vegetables are soft and fully cooked.
Once cooked, add sugar and condensed milk to the pan.
Continue cooking for another 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
In a separate pan, sauté the nuts in ghee until golden.
Add the remaining ghee, cardamom powder, and the sautéed nuts to the main mixture.
Mix everything together well.
Serve warm and enjoy.
