Belarus Keen to Invest in Pakistan’s Agri Sector

ISLAMABAD: Belarus has expressed its readiness to invest in Pakistan’s agriculture sector.

The development comes during a meeting between a high-level delegation of Belarus and President Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited Tahir Yaqoob Bhatti in Islamabad.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Vadim Shagoiko and Chairman of the Bank of Development of Belarus Sergei Stolyarchuk were included in the Belarusian delegation.

The President ZTBL during the meeting, shared the Bank’s recent disbursement of thirty-three billion rupees of agri loans to small and subsistence farmers under the Prime Minister Kissan Package and over ten billion rupees financed for farm mechanization.

The Belarusian delegation provided detailed insights into the agriculture sector of Belarus and showed keen interest in investing in multiple projects in Pakistan.

Both sides stressed the importance of further cooperation, especially in introducing Belarusian agricultural machinery for Pakistani farmers.
