MINSK: Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko conveyed warm greetings to Secretary General Zhang Ming of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in celebration of the Chinese Spring Festival.
The message, delivered through the press service of the Belarusian leader, highlighted the significance of the SCO’s expanding family, with the addition of a new member country in 2023, signaling growing trust and neighborly relations among member states.
Acknowledging the pivotal role of Secretary General Zhang Ming in steering the SCO Secretariat, President Lukashenko commended his rich experience and professionalism, which have enhanced the organization’s stature as a respected international association. Particularly, the SCO’s efforts in transforming challenges into opportunities and fostering peace and prosperity for its member nations were underscored.
Belarus, having recently attained full membership status in the SCO, expressed its unwavering commitment to active participation across various spheres of cooperation within the organization. President Lukashenko extended gratitude to Secretary General Zhang Ming for his steadfast support during Belarus’ accession process, emphasizing the country’s eagerness to contribute meaningfully to the SCO’s objectives.
