LOS ANGELES: Beyoncé broke the record for the most wins of Grammy Awards after collecting her 32nd trophy at this year’s ceremony.

The singer made history as she won the best dance and electronic album for her euphoric dance opus Renaissance. In doing so, she crossed Hungarian-British conductor George Solti, who had the record of 31 awards for more than 20 years. After accepting the prize, she is trying not to be too emotional; she is trying to receive this night. She went on to say thanks to her family, including her uncle Jonny who is no more in this world, but he helped make her outfits for the stage before she was famous.

Beyoncé could expand lead even further

Beyoncé has previously said her uncle’s battle with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) influenced her interest in music dance and its historical ties to the Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ) community on Renaissance.  With the ceremony still going on, Beyoncé could expand her lead even further. She’s competing for the night’s top prize, an album of the year, and song and record of the year, for her number-one single, Break My Soul. However, she missed some early awards due to traffic in downtown Los Angeles.

British artists triumph

The Grammys, billed as “music’s biggest night,” are the industry’s most renowned awards. Adele, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Lizzo, Shania Twain, and Stevie Wonder all attended the show on Sunday. Styles won best pop album for Harry’s House, and Sam Smith won best pop duo/group performance for his duet with Kim Petras, “Unholy.” British musicians had a fantastic night overall. Styles was given his prize with a kiss from Jennifer Lopez while wearing a white tux.

He stated that this album had been the most fantastic experience of his life from beginning to end. He has had the greatest joy imaginable due to making it with two of his closest friends and performing for audiences. Smith’s award became their first Grammy since they won one in 2015 when they won four trophies, including best new artist.

However, the star allowed Petras to take the microphone to celebrate a historic achievement. The German-born singer stated that Sam graciously requested that I accept this award because I am the first transgender woman to do so. Before dedicating the award to her mother, she thanked Madonna for “fighting for LGBTQ rights” and the late transgender pop musician Sophie for “kicking these doors open.”
