WASHINGTON:  US President Joe Biden, under intense scrutiny over his health and mental fitness to serve, accidentally introduces Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as Russian President Vladimir Putin at a NATO ceremony before correcting himself.

“Now I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination. Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin,” President Joe Biden said.

However, Biden quickly corrected himself, saying, “I’m so focused on beating President Putin, we’ve got to worry regarding it.”

Fellow leaders at the NATO summit have fielded questions regarding Biden, and their answers have largely been supportive.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that they all slip up sometimes, adding “It’s happened to me and it could happen again tomorrow. I would ask for your tolerance.”

According to media reports, more than a dozen Democrats lawmakers have appealed publicly to Biden to withdraw from the race against Donlad Trump.
