WOODSIDE, USA: US President Joe Biden, following a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, maintained his characterization of Xi as a “dictator.”

This reaffirmation comes despite earlier tensions with Beijing over the comparison earlier this year.

“Well look, he is, I mean he’s a dictator in the sense that he’s a guy who’s running a country, a Communist country, that’s based on a form of government totally different than ours,” President Biden stated at the conclusion of a news conference. The remark came in response to a reporter’s question regarding whether he would continue to use the term to describe President Xi.

The use of the term “dictator” underscores the contrasting political systems and ideologies between the United States and China. As diplomatic relations between the two nations navigate complexities, President Biden’s candid acknowledgment of fundamental governance differences sheds light on the challenges inherent in their interactions.
