US President Joe Biden said the they (West) were not planning an assault on Russia. He added that the Western countries are not plotting to attack Moscow as the Russian president said today.

He said that Kyiv would “never be a victory for Moscow” as he was in Poland ahead of the 1st anniversary of Russia’s invasion.

Biden visits Ukraine in extraordinary secrecy

The US President’s remarks follow a surprise visit to Kyiv on Monday. Under extraordinary secrecy, he traveled by plane, then by train service for 10 hours overnight to express solidarity with Ukraine’s President Zelensky.

US National security advisor Jake Sullivan termed the visit as “historic” in modern times. He said Moscow had advance notice that US President would travel to Kyiv.

He said “When the Russian President ordered his troops to roll into Kyiv, he thought they would roll over but he was wrong. He thought NATO would divide but NATO is more united than ever before.”

While in Ukraine, Biden announced a new arms package for Kyiv worth about $500 million.
