WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden on Wednesday announced to travel Hawaii on August 21, along his wife Jill Biden to express sympathy with deadly fire victims.
The president in a statement on X, formerly twitter, said he will meet with first responders, survivors, and federal, state, and local officials during his visit.
He reaffirmed his commitment to deliver everything to the people of Hawaii who are recovering from the disaster.
Jill and I will travel to Maui on Monday, August 21 to meet with first responders, survivors, and federal, state, and local officials.
I remain committed to delivering everything the people of Hawai’i need as they recover from this disaster.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also confirmed the visit of President Biden and first-lady to Hawaii on August 21.
Biden, Wife to Visit Fire-Hit Hawaii on August 21
Earlier, on Tuesday, President Biden said he would visit Hawaii as soon as he can. He explained that he did not visit fire-hit state as he wanted to make there is no disruption in the ongoing relief and recovery efforts.
According to details, there have been over 100 deaths and approximately 1300 people are reported missing.
People in Hawaii have shown reservations and are dissatisfied with the steps taken by the government.
The wildfire almost razed the historic town of Lahaina on Maui Island, a major tourist attraction in Hawaii. The town of Lahaina, had a population of 12,000.
Earlier, officials in the Hawaiian fire-hit county feared it could take years to repair the damage caused by a massive wildfire.

President Biden has already approved a major federal disaster declaration to make financial assistance available for people, local authorities, and local businessmen affected by the wildfires.
Hawaii is also getting support from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the National Guard.
People across the world have expressed sympathies with the people and government of Hawaii in the wake of the deadly wildfires.
