ISLAMABAD: Imprisoned APHC leader Bilal Siddiqi has called on the international community to fulfill its obligations in resolving the Kashmir dispute and preventing India from altering the region’s demographic for the greater cause of peace and security in the area.

From Srinagar Central Jail, Siddiqi conveyed that Kashmir issue should be addressed through a sustained dialogue process. Emphasizing that Kashmir is a disputed territory under UN resolutions, he asserted that every individual, regardless of caste, creed, color, or gender, holds an equal right to participate in the right to self-determination. It is the responsibility of every Kashmiri to safeguard the demographic composition of the disputed territory.

Siddiqi stated that the people of the disputed territory are well aware of India’s intentions and are committed to maintaining unity for the cause of freedom. He highlighted India’s efforts to alter the demographic composition by settling non-Kashmiris, a move that undermines people’s right to self-determination, violating UN resolutions and international laws.
