Bilawal Bhutto Warns Politicians Joining ‘Inflation Party’ of Electoral Consequences

MARDAN: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has taken a deep dig at electables joining Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, saying that those who are joining the ‘Inflation Party’ will suffer electoral consequences. 

Without directly naming Nawaz Sharif, Bilawal said that a person in search of electables but those joining the ‘Inflation Party’ will lose electability due to their decision. 

Speaking at a workers’ convention in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mardan, Bilawal referred to Nawaz Sharif’s recent visit to Quetta, during which over 30 prominent political figures, including members from Balochistan Awami Party, National Party, Balochistan National Party, and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, joined the PML-N.

These comments by the PPP chairman appeared to reference Nawaz Sharif’s recent visit to Quetta, where over 30 politicians from Balochistan joined PML-N.

Bilawal Bhutto criticized traditional or old politics as the country’s ‘worst enemy’ and stressed the need for ‘new politics’ to overcome the nation’s challenges.

He expressed regret that veteran politicians remain fixated on the past, neglecting the present and future. He emphasized the PPP’s commitment to leave behind the divisive, hateful, and abusive aspects of traditional politics that have persisted for seven decades.

Highlighting the country’s current economic challenges, Bhutto noted historical inflation, poverty, and unemployment levels. He asserted that the PPP’s ‘real competition’ is against inflation, unemployment, and poverty.

Bilawal Bhutto concluded by stating confidence in the success of the PPP’s slogan and manifesto on February 8, predicting that the next prime minister and chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be from his party.
