KARACHI: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is set to launch its party election campaign on the Karsaz Bombing Anniversary in Karachi on October 18.

This significant date holds deep historical significance as it marks the anniversary of the devastating Karsaz incident in Karachi years back, which resulted in the loss of many lives.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will play a central role in this commemorative event, addressing the nation via a nationwide video link on October 18. These addresses will be part of public gatherings organized at the district level across the country.

The leadership of the PPP has issued directives to ensure the active participation of party organizations, wings, ticket holders, and dedicated party workers in these gatherings. This collective participation reflects the party’s commitment to honor the memory of those affected by the tragic Karsaz incident.

During his address to the party workers, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is expected to unveil the party’s election strategy, setting the tone for the upcoming political activities.

Prior to these developments, the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the PPP convened a comprehensive two-day meeting in Lahore. The meeting was presided over by Asif Zardari, often referred to as the “King of Reconciliation” for his role in fostering political alliances and unity.

During the CEC meeting, Asif Zardari emphasized the importance of adopting non-confrontational policies in the current political landscape. This approach includes fostering constructive interactions with political counterparts, including the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and other coalition allies.

As Pakistan prepares for upcoming elections, the PPP’s commemoration of the Karsaz tragedy serves as a poignant reminder of the party’s dedication to its principles and its commitment to pursuing a peaceful and democratic political agenda.
