KARACHI: Bismah Maroof, a player for Dynamites, has been fined 20 percent of her match fee for breaching the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Code of Conduct during a match against Blasters in the ongoing Pakistan Cup Women’s Cricket Tournament 2022-23.
Maroof was found to have violated Article 2.8 of the PCB Code of Conduct, which pertains to “showing dissent at an Umpire’s decision during a Match.” The incident occurred during the 40th over of Dynamites’ innings when Maroof expressed her disappointment over an LBW decision given against her.
The charge was imposed by on-field umpires Alay Hyder and Sabahat Rashid, and Maroof accepted the charge. The match referee, Mohammad Anees, imposed the fine.
Bismah Maroof and Sidra Amin’s 130-run Partnership
In the same match, Dynamites’ captain, Sidra Amin, played a crucial inning of 95 off 100 balls, leading her team to their third consecutive victory in the tournament. She hit 13 fours and formed a 130-run partnership with Maroof, who scored 65 off 95 balls with two fours and a six. The partnership helped Dynamites reach a total of 214 for four in 45 overs. Diana Baig and Saba Nazir claimed two wickets each for Blasters.
In the chase, Blasters were bowled out for 136 in 37.3 overs, with off-spinner Rameen Shamim taking three wickets for 25 runs. Nashra Sundhu, Ghulam Fatima, and Maham Manzoor also contributed with two wickets each. Blasters’ captain, Muneeba Ali, top-scored with 33 runs.
With this win, Dynamites maintain their strong position in the tournament, with Amin and Maroof leading the tournament’s batting charts with 195 and 94 runs, respectively.
Rameen Shamim currently holds the most wickets in the tournament, with eight scalps at an average of 7.88. She is followed by Diana Baig and Aliya Riaz with six and five wickets, respectively.
