SRINAGAR, Occupied Kashmir: In a recent address at a party function in Srinagar, Farooq Abdullah, the President of the National Conference (NC) in Indian illegally-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, expressed his concerns over the deteriorating political standing of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the region.
Abdullah’s remarks shed light on the BJP’s unfulfilled promises and anti-people policies that have led to a loss of trust among the residents of both Jammu and the Kashmir valley.
Farooq Abdullah began his speech by highlighting the stark disparity between the BJP’s pledges and their actual delivery on the ground. He emphasized how the BJP had made grand assurances to the people of the Jammu region but had failed to live up to these commitments. “BJP betrayed the trust of the people in the region, leaving them feeling cheated,” Abdullah stated. He cited specific issues plaguing the area, including the sorry state of roads, prolonged power outages, the lack of access to clean drinking water, and a severe shortage of teaching staff in schools. These issues have taken a toll on the daily lives of the residents, who have borne the brunt of these unaddressed problems.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah also touched upon the historical and cultural significance of Jammu and Kashmir. He asserted that the region had endured numerous attempts to undermine its unique culture and history. He reaffirmed the National Conference’s commitment to preserving the identity and heritage of the region. Moreover, Abdullah voiced his strong opposition to any divisive tactics employed by communal parties for short-term electoral or political gains. He stressed that the National Conference would stand firm against such divisive proxies, ensuring that the people of Jammu and Kashmir remained united and safeguarded their cultural heritage.
