SRINAGAR: Members of the Hindu Dogra civil society in Jammu have voiced strong condemnation against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing the Indian regime of betraying and exploiting the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In a scathing critique, the civil society members stated that the BJP-led government has snatched away the identity and status of the residents in IIOJK, leaving them disillusioned and disheartened.

The civil society members in Jammu expressed a loss of confidence in the BJP, asserting that the Hindutva party had not only betrayed the people of Jammu but also treated them as commodities. They emphasized that the BJP’s actions had stripped the residents of Jammu of their basic rights, political privileges, and cultural identity, causing widespread discontent.

One of the major grievances raised by the Hindu Dogra civil society members was the repeal of the Roshni Act, a legislation that legalized state land ownership by local people. The repeal of this act, they argued, had hurt the residents the most, denying them their rightful ownership of land and resources.

The members strongly criticized the administration led by LG Manoj Sinha, accusing it of corruption. Additionally, they expressed concerns over the influx of outsiders receiving jobs, land, and shelter, exacerbating the challenges faced by the local populace.

Discontent in Jammu Residents About Indian Govt’s Malicious Intentions

This dissent within the local community mirrors the growing realization among the residents of Jammu about the Indian government’s malicious intentions behind the unilateral decision to strip the region of its statehood. The move has further intensified the public’s discontent, as the BJP’s political aspirations have disregarded the rights and interests of the native population.

The attempts by the Indian government to portray a facade of normalcy in IIOJK have been vehemently rejected by the people of the region. The Hindu population have been openly protesting against the BJP’s policies and actions, asserting their refusal to be part of the Indian Union. The ground reality has shattered the false narrative propagated by India, revealing the deep-seated discontent and frustration among the people of IIOJK against the Indian government’s oppressive measures.
