Blinken Extends Independence Day Wishes to Pakistan

WASHINGTON:  US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has congratulated Pakistan on its Independence Day, a statement said on Wednesday.

In a statement, the US Secretary of State said that for the last 77 years, the relations between the peoples of the two nations had served as the foundation of their bilateral relationship.

He said, “In the year ahead, we will deepen bilateral relations and extend our people-to-people ties to build a more prosperous future for both our countries,”.

The US Secretary of State said that they looked forward to continuing a partnership that makes both sides more secure, as they strengthened their shared resolve to democratic principles and respect for the rule of law.

He said, “I wish all those celebrating today – in Pakistan, the US, and across the world – a joyous Independence Day”. Pakistan is celebrating the Independence Day with a renewed pledge to work with the spirit of Pakistan Movement to make the nation a true welfare state.
