ISLAMABAD:  The people of Balochistan have truly defeated terrorism by stepping out of their homes and head towards polling stations on February 8.

The huge turnout in Balochistan shows that the people of the province are not sacred of the threat of terrorism from anti-state actors and ready to express their will by a democratic process.

It is to be noted that Balochistan was fighting a continuous threat of terrorism by BLA/BLF and anti-state propaganda to boycott General Elections but the people showed resilience and came out to vote without any fear.

In General Elections of 2024 the brave Baloch have defied terrorism in their homeland and came out to vote for Pakistan.

According to FAFEN report anarchists and propagandists calling for boycott of elections in Balochistan have failed in their propaganda.

The election watchdog said that as many as 60.6 million voters exercised their right to vote in Pakistan’s 12th general elections (GE) on February 8, 2024. Nearly 5.8 million more people voted in the election 2024 as compared to 2018 when 54.8 million had cast their votes.

It said that despite fears of violence and terrorism in Balochistan the people came out to vote.  Nearly 56 percent constituencies of Balochistan have an above 40 percent turnout.

FAFEN report revealed that as many as 103 constituencies had a turnout between 50.1 percent and 60 percent including four in Balochistan.

In Balochistan over 1,700 candidates competed for seats and 5.3 million registered voters, including 2.3 million female voters. In the province 5,028 polling stations were established and accessibility for voters was also ensured.

Despite the relentless efforts of anti-state elements residing abroad to spread misinformation and manipulate public opinion, Balochistan is witnessing unprecedented progress and development.

The province which has long been a focal point of foreign agendas, is now experiencing significant advancements across various sectors, due to collaborative efforts between Pakistan and China, particularly under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative.
