ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of Brazil in Pakistan, in partnership with the Instituto Guimarães Rosa and the Islamabad Marriott Hotel, is set to captivate the capital city of Pakistan with the “Brazilian Flavours” food festival on September 21st and 22nd, 2023. This vibrant gastronomic celebration will unfold in the Terrace Courtyard of the Islamabad Marriott Hotel.
The primary objective of this festival is to introduce Pakistani audiences to the rich and diverse flavors of Brazilian cuisine while providing an immersive and delectable experience for all attendees. To achieve this goal, the Embassy of Brazil has invited three renowned Brazilian chefs to participate in a series of activities as part of their initiative to promote Brazilian cuisine worldwide. Alongside savoring exquisite dishes, guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the melodious rhythms of Brazilian music.
Adding an educational dimension to the festival, a Master Cooking Class is scheduled for September 20th, 2023. During this class, the three accomplished Brazilian chefs will share their culinary expertise, teaching the intricacies of Brazilian cuisine to guest chefs and culinary enthusiasts eager to explore new flavors and techniques.
Brazilian Ambassador Enthusiastic for Food Festival
Ambassador of Brazil to Pakistan, Olyntho Vieira, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming food festival, emphasizing that it will serve as a captivating showcase of the vibrant flavors and cultural richness intrinsic to Brazilian cuisine. Ambassador Vieira hailed this initiative as a warm gesture by the Brazilian Embassy and noted the fascinating history of Brazilian cuisine, which has evolved over 500 years. He highlighted the fusion of traditional and innovative culinary techniques as a unique aspect of Brazilian cuisine.
Among the featured Brazilian chefs is Morena, a world-renowned culinary expert, who shared his passion for cooking, describing it as a hobby that began in his childhood kitchen, alongside his mother. Trained as a chef in France, Morena now owns a restaurant catering to more than 500 patrons. He expressed his admiration for Pakistani cooking techniques and the distinctive quality of Pakistani cuisine. Morena anticipates a delectable fusion of Pakistani and Brazilian culinary delights at the food festival.
The “Brazilian Flavours” food festival promises to be a culinary journey that transcends borders, offering Islamabad residents and visitors the opportunity to explore and savor the diverse and exquisite dishes that Brazil has to offer.
