ISLAMABAD: The British Council, in partnership with SEED Ventures, has started the “Women in Leadership Program” to empower women and develop their leadership skills across the country.

The program, designed for females at all levels, will follow CLORE’s Social Leadership training and provide various personal and professional development opportunities, including mentorship, training workshops, and networking events.

Through the initiative, the British Council wants to address women’s under-representation on leadership positions and create a more inclusive and diverse workplace.

The training sessions are being organized at the Commerce College in Karachi and in other cities.

Program covers various topics

The program will cover various topics, including conflict resolution, communication, and strategic planning. Participants will have an approach to experienced mentors and facilitators who will provide guidance and support throughout their tenure.

In addition, the program will provide opportunities for participants to connect with a network of like-minded women and expand their professional and personal networks. The training will commence in February and continue till March.

All 10 facilitators and 48 participants chosen for the project were carefully elected via a rigorous selection process and spread across all Pakistan demographics.

Maarya Rehman, Deputy Director at the British Council Pakistan, said, “We are thrilled to launch the Women in Leadership Program, which we believe will have a great impact on the advancement of women in the workplace.”

“Gender equality is essential for a thriving and inclusive society, and we are committed to playing our part in achieving this goal,” she added.
