LONDON: A high-level delegation of British legislators of Kashmir origin has demanded UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak play his role in the release of Yasin Malik, chief of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), who is currently facing a life sentence in India.

They made the demand in a memorandum, which they presented to the British Prime Minister during their visit to 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the Prime Minister of Britain.  The MPs highlighted atrocities committed by India in Indian Illegal Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and the detention of Yasin Malik.  They said that the Prime Minister of the UK should play an active role and help Kashmiris in solving this issue.
