British Parliamentarians, Diplomats Join Pakistan’s Mango Festival in London

LONDON: The Pakistan High Commission in London hosted a Mango Festival, drawing a diverse crowd of British parliamentarians, diplomats, British citizens, and British Pakistanis.

Addressing on this occasion, High Commissioner of Pakistan Dr. Muhammad highlighted the significance of mangoes in Pakistan’s agricultural heritage, describing them as a symbol of national pride. He emphasized the worldwide acclaim for Pakistani mangoes, renowned for their exceptional taste and aroma, which are deeply cherished.

The Mango Festival commenced with a joint inauguration by UK Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Housing Lord Wajid Khan, All Party Parliamentary Group’s Afzal Khan, and High Commissioner Dr. Muhammad Faisal.

The participants of the event were also given gifts of mango juice, mango kulfi, and fresh mangoes. They expressed great admiration for the delicious flavor and aroma of Pakistani mangoes, advocating for the festival to become an annual tradition.

Annually, the Pakistan High Commission in London hosts the Mango Festival to celebrate the onset of mango season in Pakistan during the summer months.

Pakistan exports its mangoes worldwide, boasting over 200 varieties including renowned types like Chonsa, Sindhri, Lal Badshah, Fajri, and Anwar Ratul.
