FAISALABAD: The Philippines Ambassador to Pakistan and chair of the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI) Maria Agnes M. Cervantes, presided over her conducting Heads of Mission meeting here in Faisalabad on Wednesday.
During the handover ceremony, chairmanship moved from Maria Agnes M. Cervantes to Pg Kamal Bashah Pg Ahmad, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam.
Ambassador Cervantes, in her closing remarks, expressed gratitude to all ACI members for their collaboration, highlighting their role in enhancing ASEAN’s visibility through active engagement in public and economic diplomacy initiatives. She expressed confidence in Brunei Darussalam’s upcoming Chairmanship.
The meeting also served as a farewell to Ambassador Nguyen Tien Phong of Vietnam, concluding his more than three-year tenure in Islamabad.
Among those present were High Commissioner Mohammad Azhar Mazlan of Malaysia, Charge d’Affaires Aung Kyaw Thuya of Myanmar, Charge d’Affaires Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma of Indonesia, Charge d’Affaires Kamolwan Sriposil of Thailand, and representatives from various diplomatic missions in Islamabad.
