Canadian Sikhs Record Protest Against Indian Govt Over Nijjar Murder

TORONTO: Canadian Sikhs expressed their outrage and sorrow over the assassination of prominent Khalistan movement leader, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, by staging demonstrations outside various Indian diplomatic missions across the country. Here’s a breakdown of the events:

Approximately 100 protesters congregated outside the Indian consulate in Toronto, where emotions ran high. In a symbolic act of protest, an Indian flag was set on fire, and a cardboard cut-out bearing the likeness of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was repeatedly struck with a shoe, a gesture of strong condemnation.

In Vancouver, around 200 demonstrators gathered outside the Indian consulate to show their solidarity with the Khalistan movement. Their presence reflected the widespread support for the cause within the Sikh community.

Over 100 individuals assembled in front of the Indian High Commissioner’s office in Ottawa. Waving yellow flags emblazoned with the word “Khalistan,” they voiced their demands for justice and recognition of the Khalistan movement.
