JOHANNESBURG, South Africa: Double Olympic champion Caster Semenya is seeking financial assistance for her ongoing legal fight against regulations mandating female athletes with high testosterone levels to undergo medication.

Ahead of a crucial hearing at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in May, Semenya emphasized the need for funds to cover legal expenses and expert fees.

Despite winning a previous case against discrimination, Semenya faces renewed challenges from Swiss authorities, backed by World Athletics, pushing for a reversal of the ruling.

The regulations, introduced in 2018, have prevented Semenya from competing in her preferred 800m distance, prompting her to seek support to uphold her rights as an athlete.

As she prepares for the legal battle, Semenya remains committed to advocating for young athletes facing similar hurdles, underscoring the broader implications of the case on gender equality in sports.
