ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced a series of transformative initiatives aimed at making Islamabad a model city for climate-friendly e-mobility.

Key projects include the introduction of over 200 electric buses, an extensive bicycle route network, an automated car parking system, and citywide tree-plantation drives.

The initiatives focus on promoting sustainable transportation, reducing the city’s carbon footprint, and addressing environmental challenges.

The imminent launch of electric buses is set to revolutionize commuting, offering citizens an eco-friendly alternative and contributing to reduced traffic congestion.

Additionally, the bicycle route network aims to promote safe and accessible cycling across the city. The CDA’s collaborative efforts with banks for an automated car parking system and a mega tree-plantation drive with universities further demonstrate a holistic approach toward creating an environmentally conscious and sustainable urban environment in Islamabad.
