ISLAMABAD: The China Cultural Center in Pakistan has started a series of activities to celebrate the 2023 Happy Chinese New Year in a grand manner.
The “2023 Chinese New Year” fell on Sunday, January 22, in 2023 while the celebrations culminate with the Lantern Festival on 5 February. Chinese strive to make the event as special as feasible, often spending hours preparing food and doing decorations.
‘Chinese New Year’ also familiar as ‘Spring Festival’
‘Chinese New Year’ is also considered as ‘Spring Festival’ which is the most important festival of the year for the Chinese people. Reserved for families, it is an important chance for families and acquiantces to get together and celebrate. Often relatives and family members travel from all over the country to get together for the special event.
In connection with the 2023 Happy Chinese New Year celebrations, the China Cultural Center in Pakistan has worked with the Shanghai Municipality to promote the tourism and cultural resources of Shanghai in Pakistan.
A large number of exciting events, such as exhibitions, cultural performances, tourism promotion documentaries, and much more will be part of the ceremonies.
China Cultural Center in Pakistan arranged the musical concert “Our Common Mothercountry” by the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra throughonline . In the future days, “Happy Chinese New Year – Pujiang Arts Collection” exhibitions by the Center for China Shanghai International Arts Festival, online performances and other similar activities will be launched on various social media platforms run by the China Cultural Center in Pakistan besides the Cultural Office of the Embassy of China in state of Pakistan.
The Cultural Consulate of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan also organized a cake-cutting ceremony in Islamabad to kick off the upcoming celebrations and cordially invited all Chinese nationals living in Pakistan to take part in the event.
The Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and at the same time Director China Cultural Center in Pakistan, Zhang Heqing said that ‘Happy Chinese New Year’ is an annual brand activity held to celebrate the Spring Festival under the guidance of Ministry of Culture and Tourism adding it is increasingly becoming an important platform for China to share Chinese concepts and culture with people from all over the world. — APP
