ISLAMABAD: British-Pakistani viral sensation Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has released “Bado Badi 2,” the highly anticipated follow-up to his viral song, just in time for Eid Al-Adha. Chahat has chosen to bypass YouTube for this release, opting instead to share the new song on his official Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram accounts.

This decision follows a controversy with YouTube, which recently deleted the original “Bado Badi” video after it had amassed nearly 30 million views. Chahat explained his choice, stating, “I will not be using the song on YouTube in order to avoid being in trouble again.” He further mentioned that he has already engaged legal counsel to address the issue and attempt to restore the original video.

The new rendition features a fresh face, though her identity has yet to be disclosed. The original video included model Wajdan Rao, who publicly fell out with Chahat, alleging she was only paid Rs5,000 for her participation. In response to these accusations, Chahat has defended his actions, emphasizing that he had given Rao significant opportunities and exposure through six songs over the past 2.5 years.

During a press conference in London, where he also launched his film “Sabaq” and “Bado Badi 2,” Chahat addressed the controversy humorously by mimicking Rao’s style of accusing him. He then provided his side of the story, noting that Rao had initially sought fame through her association with him and now appeared to be leveraging accusations for additional publicity.

“I gave her a chance in six songs; no one knew her before my songs. I gave her work in 6 songs in the last 2.5 years and now she’s crying that she will not work with Chahat Fateh Ali Khan,” Chahat stated. He recounted how he had provided Rao with Rs5,000, a dinner, and a rickshaw ride home. He also insisted that he posed no threat to her, humorously noting, “I have never killed any housefly in my life.”

Chahat encouraged Rao to utilize her newfound fame constructively within the media industry, rather than resorting to sensationalism for attention. He urged her to work hard instead of shedding tears to gain followers.

Looking ahead, Chahat has announced plans to continue the “Bado Badi” series with future releases, including “Bado Badi 3,” “Bado Badi 4,” and “Bado Badi 5,” all of which will be launched on platforms other than YouTube to avoid similar issues.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Chahat made his acting debut in the film “Sabaq,” which he released on his YouTube channel on Eid day. Directed by Faraz Ahmed, the film explores themes of classical singing, crime, love, and the world of social media influencers. Ahmed praised Chahat’s performance, calling him “a brilliant actor and a pro,” and describing the film as a tribute to Chahat’s multifaceted talent.

Chahat’s fans eagerly await the upcoming versions of “Bado Badi” and continue to support his ventures in both music and film, celebrating his unique blend of entertainment and talent.
