Chairman Senate Hosts Reception for World Football Delegation

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has vowed to promote football in Pakistan stressing the need for professional coaching to produce world-class players.

He expressed these remarks during a meeting with a delegation of World Football and the Pakistan Football League (PFL).

The delegation, led by Farhan Ahmed Junejo, Chairman of the Pakistan Football League, included prominent international football players, experts, and managers.

Chairman Senate warmly welcomed the guests to the Parliament House and expressed pleasure in hosting them.

He strongly believed that football is not just a game but a bridge that connects millions of people around the world.

Chairman Senate noted that there is no dearth of talent in Pakistan but there is a need for professional coaching to produce world-class players.

He added that the wonderful sport has a bright future in Pakistan.

Gilani said that more than 60 percent of the population of Pakistan consists of youth who are a valuable asset to the country. 

The Chairman Senate expressing his views said if opportunities are provided, our youth can prove themselves in every field.

He noted the PFL is playing an important role in promoting international football in Pakistan. 

He assured the visiting delegation that being a football enthusiast he would do his best to develop the latest football facilities in Pakistan.

British legendary footballer Michael Owen on the occasion said that there is no shortage of talent in Pakistan as far as the game of football is concerned adding that sports passion among Pakistani people is admirable.

Farhan Ahmed Junejo Chairman of the Pakistan Football League said the British football clubs have come to Pakistan to play in the league to promote football in Pakistan.

He said that ten teams including Multan, Peshawar, Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Sialkot, and others will be launched at the event.
