ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb hit back at Imran Khan’s Press Conference and said that the later four years’ tenure was full of cheating, corruption, and unfair practices. Still, now he is challenging and criticising the government.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Monday, she added that winning by-elections is not a justification for collecting mobs to attack the federal capital. The minister said that Imran Khan’s four-year rule was enough for the public to make him accountable for the mess he earned for the country.
Responding to a question, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the army chief’s appointment is the government’s prerogative and not that of a thief and cheater like Imran Khan, who has sold the interests of the country amid foreign funding issues. She added that when Nawaz Sharif was the prime minister of Pakistan, he had the entitlement to appoint the army chief. In his press conference, Imran Khan blamed Nawaz Sharif and Afi Zardari for the appointment of armed forces chiefs.
Regarding development work, the Minister challenged Imran Khan to come up with any mega project, including a school, college, university, or hospital in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during his ten-year tenure, to match the era of Shehbaz Sharif in Punjab province. She added that Shehbaz Sharif saved the country from default while Nawaz Sharif took Pakistan to become an Atomic Power and developed chains of motorways in the country.
She also blamed the ex-premier for abusing powers. She added that Imran Khan utilized all his unfair moves to defame, Maryum Nawaz, Faryal Talpure, and other opposition leaders, particularly women, for his so-called vengeance, adding that he didn’t spare Tayaba Gul and recorded a video of her to take advantage of from the NAB.
