ISLAMABAD: The Cheesy Chicken Lifafa recipe features savoury minced chicken cooked with aromatic spices and wrapped in crispy layers.
Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp salt
- Water as required
For the Keema Filling:
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 kg chicken mince
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1 tbsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp red chilli flakes
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
For the Cheesy Chicken Lifafa:
- Prepared dough
- Prepared keema filling
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- Burger slices as required
- Flour mixture (3 tbsp all-purpose flour + 1/2 cup water)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine flour, oil, salt, and water to knead a smooth dough. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, add chicken mince and cook until it changes colour. Add onion and tomato puree, cooking for 1-2 minutes.
- Add red chilli powder, salt, red chilli flakes, garlic powder, and turmeric powder. Cook until the mince is fully done, then set aside.
- Divide the prepared dough into four portions. Roll out one part into a flat circle.
- Cut the rolled dough into a square shape and set aside.
- Mix the chicken filling with mozzarella cheese in a bowl.
- Cut the burger slices into four equal parts.
- Place the keema filling in the centre of the square-shaped dough and top with a burger slice.
- Wrap the dough into a lifafa shape, securing the edges with the flour mixture.
- Deep fry until crispy and golden. Your Cheesy Chicken Lifafa is ready to enjoy.
