ISLAMABAD: At least 915 IIOJK’s children were martyred as a result of Indian troops’ unrelenting acts of state terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir during the last 34 years.
In a report published on Sunday in honour of World Children’s Day, the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service claimed that children are the worst victims of India’s illegitimate occupation of Jammu and Kashmir. The 96,154 people who have been killed by the military since January 1, 1989, to date, are revealed to include 915 children. According to the report, 107,887 children were left orphaned in the region during the time due to the soldiers’ killing of civilians.

According to the report, Indian troops fired pellets at peaceful protesters, injuring thousands of people, including young children and schoolgirls. More than a hundred people, including 4-year-old Zuhra Majeed, 8-year-old Asif Rashid, 19-month-old Hiba Jan, 8-year-old Owais Ahmad, 10-year-old Ahmad Sheikh, and 13-year-old Mir Arafat, lost their vision of eye totally and partially because the pellet bullets of Indian forces in the area during last 12 years.
According to the report, thousands of Kashmiris have been arrested since the military and police siege began in August 2019, when India revoked the IIOJK’s special status.
On World Children’s Day, the international community must not ignore the misery of IIOJK children, it was argued, and responsible individuals must speak out in favour of those rights for Kashmiri children. —APP
