BEIJING: The armed forces of China and Belarus are preparing to conduct joint army training exercises near Brest, Belarus, in mid-July, aimed at bolstering their capabilities in counter-terrorism operations, the Chinese Ministry of National Defense announced on Sunday.
According to Xinhua, the joint training initiative is part of the planned activities for this year and follows a mutual agreement between China and Belarus. The exercises will specifically focus on scenarios involving hostage rescue operations and counter-terrorism missions.
“The training will involve mixed-team exercises where soldiers from both countries will collaborate closely to enhance their proficiency and coordination in tackling critical security challenges,” stated the Ministry of National Defense.
The primary objectives of the joint training are to elevate the training standards of the participating troops and to strengthen the practical cooperation between the armed forces of China and Belarus.
China and Belarus have maintained robust bilateral relations, particularly in defence and military cooperation.
