BEIJING: China’s Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center (JSLC) dispatched a new Earth observation satellite into space on Monday.
The satellite, Gaofen-12 04, blasted off by a Long March-4C carrier rocket at 1:45 a.m. (local time) and has successfully entered the planned orbit.
It will be used for a variety of purposes, including land surveys, road network design, urban planning, disaster relief, and crop yield estimation, Xinhua reported.

The new launch marks the 484th flight mission of the carrier rockets of the Long March series.
