China, Netherlands Agree to Boost Relations

BEIJING: Chinese foreign minister Qin Gang has said that China was looking forward to working with the Netherlands to implement the important consensus reached by the leadership of both countries.

During his conversation with Dutch deputy prime minister Wopke Hoekstra over the phone, Gang said that his country was willing to increase exchanges at all levels and further consolidate its relations with the Dutch.

He said that these relations’ defining feature is that they are practical and open. China is speeding up its efforts to promote high-level opening-up and high-quality development, which will bring greater opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

He further said that China was ready to work with the Dutch to expand cooperation in multilateral areas.

China, Netherlands to expand economic cooperation

For his part, Wopke Hoekstra said that the Netherlands was ready to strengthen interaction with China at all levels and expand bilateral cooperation in economy, arms control, non-proliferation, and climate change.

He said that the Netherlands would continue to handle economic affairs with China in a responsible manner.
