BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that China opposes hegemony, power politics, and bloc confrontation and are ready to promote equal multipolarity of the world. His remarks comes as he arrived in Astana to attend the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). CGTN reported that Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has welcomed President Xi Jinping at an airport in Astana.
According to Chinese state-run media, President Xi left Beijing on Tuesday for the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Astana and official visits to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan and President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan.
The Chinese President said in his article published by the Kazinform agency that changes and turbulence in the world landscape pose new challenges, but also bring new opportunities for China and Kazakhstan. He wrote that Chinese believe that in every challenge lies an opportunity, and that opportunities and challenges are interchangeable.
According to Xi, Beijing stands ready to join hands with Kazakhstan in response to the changes of historic importance that are taking place in the world. He said that they need to foster new opportunities amid issues. He wrote China will work with Kazakhstan to uphold the global system with the UN at its core and the global order underpinned by global law, oppose hegemonism, act on true multilateralism, power politics and bloc confrontation. He said that they will work together to build an equal and orderly multipolar world for peace and stability.
