LANZHOU: China and Pakistan have begun a joint air force training drill on Chinese territory to further enhance training and collaboration between the two militaries and deepen their exchange and cooperation on military technology.

Chinese media reported that “Shaheen (Eagle) – X,” is the 10th joint training drill between the air forces of China and Pakistan.

The exercise will focus on training the air forces in warlike scenarios, such as joint air defense and countermeasures.

The two sides will use fighters, early warning aircraft and several other types of aircrafts during the exercise.

Ground forces such as ground-to-air missiles and radar and signal troops would also be used in the exercise. Chinese naval aviation units will be taking part in the training.

The “Shaheen (Eagle)” exercise started between the two countries in March 2011. China is Pakistan’s largest defense partner.
