BEIJING: China’s independently developed third-generation superconducting quantum computer, Origin Wukong, has garnered over 10 million remote visits worldwide, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s quantum computing progress, according to China Science and Technology Daily.
As of 9 a.m. Monday, users from 124 countries and regions have accessed Origin Wukong remotely, completing nearly 236,000 quantum computing tasks globally, the Anhui Quantum Computing Engineering Research Center said.
Powered by Wukong, a 72-qubit indigenous superconducting quantum chip, this quantum computer began operation on January 6 in Hefei, located in east China’s Anhui Province. It stands as one of the most advanced programmable and deliverable superconducting quantum computers in the country. The name “Wukong” draws inspiration from Sun Wukong, a mythical Chinese figure known for transforming into 72 different forms, symbolizing the computer’s powerful and versatile capabilities.
