ASTANA: China’s top legislative body known as the National People’s Congress (NPC), vowed further exchanges and cooperation with the parliament of Kazakhstan as a senior Chinese legislator wrapped up a visit to the Central Asian country on Saturday.
Hao Mingjin, vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, made these remarks during his trip from Jan. 23 to 27, heading a Chinese delegation, at the invitation of the parliament of Kazakhstan.
During the trip, Hao met respectively with Maulen Ashimbayev, chairperson of the Senate of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Koshanov, speaker of the Mazhilis, Roman Sklyar, first deputy PM, and Meirzhan Otynshiev, chairperson of the Almaty Maslikhat, the local legislative body.

Kazakhstan and China are close neighbors, trusted friends, and mutually supportive partners, Hao added. Under the strategic guidance of the two Presidents, China and Kazakhstan have established a permanent strategic partnership, pioneered a bilateral community striving towards a shared future, and set an example of friendly exchanges between the two nations.
He stated that China’s NPC wants to continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Kazakh legislative body, implementing the consensus reached by Presidents of the two countries, and contributing to the development of bilateral relations.
Hao briefed the Kazakh side on the 20th CPC National Congress, the whole-process people’s democracy, Chinese-style modernization, and the Belt and Road Initiative.
The Kazakh side also reiterated that it firmly upholds the one-China principle, is ready to promote cooperation between the two legislative bodies, and government as well as ready to deepen cooperation in diverse fields and continue to promote Kazakhstan-China ties.
