BEIJING: China’s Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing held a meeting with Lars Fruergaard Jorgensen, the President and CEO of Novo Nordisk, an international healthcare company based in Denmark, in Beijing on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Zhang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized China’s commitment to advancing high-level openness and pledged continuous support for the progress of foreign enterprises, including Novo Nordisk, within China.

Zhang highlighted China’s strategic focus on safeguarding public health and its active role in fostering the advancement of biomedicine. He praised the robust groundwork for collaboration in the fields of biomedical innovation and research and development.
Jorgensen acknowledged China’s remarkable economic and social accomplishments and expressed his unwavering confidence in the company’s future growth prospects within China. He affirmed that Novo Nordisk remains dedicated to exploring the Chinese market to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
