BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday said that the Chinese people will achieve remarkable milestones and make greater contributions to global peace and development, China’s official Xinhua news agency reported.

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks while addressing a reception held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

The Chinese President outlined his vision for the nation’s future while paying tribute to the diverse ethnic groups in China, as well as the officers and soldiers of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army and the People’s Armed Police Force. He recognized the contributions of various political parties and individuals without party affiliation.

Extending greetings to compatriots in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan, as well as to overseas Chinese, Xi also expressed gratitude to friendly nations and international allies that support China’s development.

“We are on a new journey in a new era, and the central task of the Party and the country is to build China into a strong nation and achieve national rejuvenation across all fronts,” he stated.

Highlighting the importance of Chinese modernization, Xi emphasized that advancing this significant cause is the most fitting way to commemorate the PRC’s anniversary. He called for steadfast adherence to the CPC’s leadership, urging a coordinated effort to deepen reforms and expand openness.

Xi’s address reflects China’s ambitions for global influence, asserting that a commitment to peaceful development and a people-centered approach will guide the country’s progress.
