Chinese Ambassador Makes Farewell Call on Pakistan’s NA Speaker

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s National Assembly (NA) Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf lauded the outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong for his momentous contributions to strengthening Pakistan-China bilateral and parliamentary relations during a farewell courtesy call by him at the Parliament House on Friday.

Pervaiz Ashraf said Pakistan highly valued the ironclad friendship with the People’s Republic of China while adding that the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries had gone from strength to strength because of the consistent, dedicated, and sincere efforts from both states and the role of the envoys in these efforts was very significant.

The Speaker of the National Assembly also appreciated the Chinese ambassador for his arduous work in promoting parliamentary cooperation between the two sides as such interactions would help in learning from parliamentary experiences of each other and will create mutual opportunities under the strategic partnership, particularly through China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to work for the benefit of people on both sides.

Ambassador Nong Rong expressed gratitude to the speaker for his kind remarks and added Pakistan was his second home as he had a very fruitful and enriched experience and fond memories during his two-year stay in Pakistan.

He further said the Pakistan-China relationship had a very bright future and he would wish to see further improvement in them emphasizing that China would continue to assist Pakistan in pursuit of its national development and objectives.

Both the leaders also discussed the prevailing international and regional situation, further expansion of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the context of trade and commerce, and regular people-to-people exchange between the two countries.
