Chinese Ambassador Meets Pakistan’s Finance Minister to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, visited Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, & Economic Affairs, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, at the Finance Division. During the meeting, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar congratulated Jiang Zaidong on his appointment as the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan.

Finance Minister Akhtar expressed her appreciation for the enduring and robust friendship between the two countries, highlighting the long-standing friendly relations. She reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to further enhance these strong ties. Additionally, she expressed gratitude for China’s invaluable support and assistance across various sectors in Pakistan.

Dr. Akhtar emphasized the government’s dedication to economic reforms and their critical role in revitalizing the national economy. She reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to successfully completing the IMF Programme, demonstrating the government’s commitment to sound economic governance.

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong commended the government’s efforts in pursuing economic reforms and reviving the economy. He assured the continuation of China’s support to Pakistan.

The meeting also included a review of the progress of projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and emphasized its strategic importance for regional connectivity and economic development.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to further strengthen the multifaceted partnership between Pakistan and China, aiming to enhance economic prosperity and foster development.
