Chinese Power Company Desires to Develop Advance Metering Infrastructure in Pakistan

The Leading Chinese power company State Grid China (SDC) has expressed its interest in developing advance metering Infrastructure (AMI) for DISCOs in Pakistan.

A delegation of SDC called on the Federal Minister for Energy Khurram Dastagir Khan here on Thursday. Energy matters and opportunities in the power sector in Pakistan were discussed. 

The minister offered the delegation to seek for new investment opportunities besides its interest in the advance metering Infrastructure.

He applauded the professionalism of the company that has installed 4000 MW HVDC Matiari Lahore transmission line. The project is a milestone in diversification of national grid with maiden addition of HVDC technology.

It is worth mentioning that SGC has already installed 500 million AMI meters in China and 5 million in Saudia Arabia.
