MULTAN: The district administration distributed cheques of Rs 1,000,000 for financial aid among one hundred Christian families in celebration of Christmas.
Deputy Commissioner Rizwan Qadeer handed out the cheques as the provincial government released a special grant for the Christian families in the city of Saints.
The DC also joined the Christian community in cutting the Christmas cake.
Addressing the gathering, the DC emphasized the Punjab government’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of the minority community. He assured that minorities enjoyed complete protection and freedom in the country, mentioning the establishment of special Sasta bazaars for the Christian community during the Christmas season. The DC further mentioned the embellishment of all churches and places of worship in preparation for the Christmas festivities.
Expressing gratitude, the Christian community commended the district administration for contributing to the joy of Christmas. —APP
