ISLAMABAD: Christians in Pakistan and all over the world are celebrating Christmas today with religious zeal and commitment.
Churches, streets and homes have been decorated with festive lights, celebratory ornaments and Christmas trees.
Meanwhile, worshippers dressed in festive outfits will be attending special services and programmes in Churches, and prayers will be offered for peace, progress and prosperity of Pakistan. Special cakes and candies are also being prepared as part of the festivities. People disguised as Santa Claus will distribute gifts and presents among the children.
Strict security arrangements in place all across country
After the recent wave of terrorism, strict security arrangements have been put in place outside churches across Pakistan including in Islamabad.
Message by President, PM on Christmas
Felicitating the Christian community on the special occasion, Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting the rights of minorities, as guaranteed and protected in the Constitution.
