CJP to Chair Supreme Judicial Council, Judicial Commission Sessions Today

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi will chair important sessions of the Supreme Judicial Council and Judicial Commission (SJC) on Friday.

The SJC would review the complaints about judges and Election Commission members. It is the first session of SJC following taking charge of the office by CJP Afridi.

Meanwhile, the Judicial Commission has called the key meeting today which would also be chaired by CJP Afridi at 2pm.  This would be the second meeting of the judicial commission following enactment of the 26th amendment and restructuring of the commission.

Judicial Commission

The JCP, chaired by CJP Yahya Afridi include Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Pakistan Bar Council representative Akhtar Hussain, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, Shibli Faraz, Omar Ayub, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, senior lawyer Farooq H Naek, and Roshan Khursheed Bhutto.

Constitutional Bench

The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has appointed seven judges for the constitutional benches, with Justice Aminuddin Khan serving as its chief, according to local media reports.

The other members of the Judicial Commission include Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Ayesha A. Malik, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Musarrat Hilali, Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan.
