MOUNT FUJI, JAPAN: It was a pleasant surprise for the hikers when they saw a pizza delivery worker during their climb up Mount Fuji.
A Twitter user shared a photo of a supposed Domino’s Pizza delivery boy with his thermal bag on his back as he casually explored Japan’s Mount Fuji. “I climbed Mt. Fuji yesterday and there were people ordering Domino’s pizza,” the user wrote.

To the surprise of many, the supposed delivery man, however, turned out to be an office worker who enjoys hiking while dressed in various delivery uniforms. The man, Umanami Futoshi, would regularly dress up in delivery uniforms with delivery bag filled with equipment and necessities for his hike.
Bringing surprise and smiles makes Umanami Futoshi, an avid climber a special man on the mountain.
Dressed up in a pizza delivery costume to the shock of everyone on the mountain, he is the star attraction on the social media among the climbing community.
An office worker Umanami Futoshi has a passion for hiking and trekking and regularly climbs the peak.
A climber on social media platform X shared Umanami Futoshi’s photo in Domino Pizza costume and couldn’t believe his eyes that pizza delivery service is available on top of the mountain.
Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan standing at 12,388 feet (3776 metres). It gives a sprawling view due to its conical shape.
Umanami works in a local office and regularly dresses up in different delivery costumes representing different pizza chains in Japan.
He approaches in doing this is ‘deliver, surprise and smile’. The delivery bag contains not the pizza but his climbing gear that is needed for climbing the mountain.
He regularly updates his adventures on social media platforms including time, distance, and route maps.
He shared one of his pictures in which he delivered a pizza box to a climber and from there, he picked up the idea to dress up as a delivery man on the treks he takes.
Umanami adventure has generated a lot of interest on his site and the response he states made him a better person and a climber.
