Closing Ceremony of Pak, Turkiye Joint Military Exercise ATATURK XII 2023 Held at Tarbela

ISLAMABAD: The closing ceremony of Pak-Turkiye joint military exercise “ATATURK XII 2023” was held at Tarbela on Thursday, in which soldiers from Turkish Special Forces and Pakistan’s Special Service Group (SSG) took part, according to press release of the ISPR.

Pakistan’s Director General of Military Training, Major General Asad Nawaz Khan watched the proceedings of the closing ceremony as chief guest.

The Turkish military delegation was headed by Colonel Mustafa Kahraman, Center Commander for Counter-Terrorism Training and Exercise, who also attended the event.

Joint military exercise focused on counter-terrorism

The exercises, which lasted two weeks, were aimed at sharing mutual experiences in the counter-terrorism domain, along with honing skills regarding best practices and adopting them, as well as boosting cooperation between the two armies.

The exercises specially focused on the drills and techniques regarding Sniper Training, Improvised Explosives Devices (IED) handling, Compound and Cave Clearance, and Combat Medic training.

The event was the 12th joint exercise of the Ataturk series, which is a component of bilateral military cooperation between both friendly countries.
